Swedish Tech opportunities in India – startups/scale-ups

Panelists: Anna Kinberg Batra, Pranav Kosuri of Brandie, Mahesh Kumar of Epicenter and representative from Startup India

A warm welcome to this ‘Tech Mingle’ – including a welcome by Epicenter, a 30 minute panel discussion and a presentation by SIBC on the upcoming Tech Flight to Sweden and then also the delegation in September to India.

The timing to connect the Sweden India Tech and Startup scene has never been better. India’s startup ecosystem has become a talking point for the entire world. With thousands of innovative youngsters choosing to pursue the path of entrepreneurship instead of joining the multinational corporations and government ventures, the business world has witnessed an explosion of ground-breaking startups providing solutions to the real problems at a mass level in the past years. 2018 was a good year for startups in India. Last year’s themes were consumerism and digital adoption. The average age of startup founders in India is 28 years, and more than 9 percent of founders are women.

This year we have very special focus on Startups and Tech scene which will be truly highlighted on the 9th of September at Epicenter when we have 20 Tech Startups from India along with 10 Media/Celebs/Opinion Builders performing a separate workshop on how to enter the Nordic and European market via Stockholm. They will be visiting Stockholm for Tech Week starting at Epicenter with workshops and Sweden-India Business Day, and culminating at Stockholm TechFest on the 11th of September.

This will be immediately followed by an exciting Tech delegation from Sweden to India with stops in Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, culminating in one of the best start-up conferences – TechSparks-YourStory in Bangalore. A fantastic opportunity for Swedish Tech companies to explore the Indian market for partners, suppliers and investors. This trip will also be highly subsidized.
