The Swedish-India Business Leaders ’Round Table or SIBLERT is a high-level platform for business leaders from Sweden and India to identify joint challenges in the fields of research, innovation, investments, financing, trade, business, industrialization and regulation.
SIBLERT will take on and launch projects to forge a strong and durable relationship between the two countries. The forum will provide advice to the political leadership on both sides on the way forward to develop our relationship from bilateral, European and global business perspectives.
The launch of SIBLERT officially came to light in a joint statement between Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén’s and Prime Minster Narendra Modi’s bilateral meeting:
”Both Prime Ministers supported a stronger business-to-business dialogue between the two countries and welcomed the creation of an India-Sweden Business Leaders’ Round Table.”
“The exchange of ideas between executives and industrialists in The Sweden-India Round Table will foster even stronger ties between our two business communities. The relation between India and Sweden is a perfect match in terms of innovation, entrepreneurship and technology. I am looking forward to an intensive and close collaboration.”
Says Mr. Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of SEB and SAAB
Mr. Baba Kalyani comments:
”I am really happy that we had the opportunity to have a high powered delegation from Sweden to come to Make in India. If this can be catapulted into a process, this will be a wonderful start for Sweden India Business Leaders Roundtable initiative.”
Sweden-India Business Council and the Confederation of Indian Industry, CII will hold a joint Secretariat to facilitate SIBLERT.
“ CII is indeed pleased to partner with the Sweden India Business Council and be the Secretariat from the India side for the Sweden India Business Leaders Round Table which has been constituted as an outcome of the recent India visit of the Swedish Prime Minister. This Round Table would seek to enhance business to business linkages between the two countries and truly take the economic relationship between the two countries to it’s next level“
Says Mr. Chandrajit Banerji, Director General, Confederation of Indian Industry
”With SIBLERT we will actively contribute to the collaboration of top industrialists and CEOs in a fashion in line with the traditions of SIBC. Having the SIBLERT secretariat with us is of course a great honour, as is partnering with one of our founders in CII.”
Says Robin Sukhia, Secretary General and President of SIBC.
SIBC was founded by the Swedish Confederation of Enterprises and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is also a close partner, as well as Business Sweden.
