India Sweden Business Leaders' Roundtable | ISBLRT is as a high-level platform for business leaders from Sweden and India. Officially formed as part of the Joint-statement between Prime Minister’s Narendra Modi and Stefan Löfven in February 2016 as a high-level platform for business leaders from Sweden and India. Its foundation is to identify joint challenges and collaborations in the fields of research, innovation, investments, financing, trade, business, industrialization, and regulatory issues which need to be addressed to forge a strong and durable relationship between the two countries. The aim of this Forum would be to increase our understanding of India, strengthen our networks, and to provide joint and necessary advice to political leaders on both sides, while developing our relationship from a bilateral, European, and global business perspectives.
The forum has four Joint Working Groups (JWGs) in Smart Sustainable Cities, Digitization, Defense, Skilling, Life Sciences and Traffic Safety, each headed by a top business leader. The groups also work at an operational level in order to engage and move agendas forward. Startups and Innovation runs as a common agenda among all four JWGs.
Sweden-India Business Council is the Secretariat on the Swedish and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) on the Indian side. Marcus Wallenberg as co-chair on the Swedish side.
